How To Do a Wash and Go on Natural Hair

Does you wash and go end up looking more like buckwheat from Little Rascals? No shade to little buddy, but I highly doubt any of us will purposely rock that style. We'll leave it to you, little man...

It took me almost 4 years to finally achieve a wash and go that I'd wear out in public. I still need to work out the kinks(no pun intended), but I recently discovered what I was doing wrong. I wasn't applying enough product! How simple is that? 4 years it took me to figure that out...4!! Oh well, better late than never right?

I used my favorite leave-in which is Kinky Curly's Knot Today and my homemade flaxseed gel to achieve my wash & go. You can find the link to the Flaxseed Gel recipe below. The benefits of flaxseed gel are wonderful so be sure to give it a shot if you haven't already. As always thank you for watching. Please like and share for more videos and tips!

QUICK MOISTURIZING TIPS

STEP #1

Add a moisturizer. I simpy use water, but if you plan to use a product make sure the FIRST ingredient is water (aqua) and that mineral oil or petrolatum is NOT listed in the ingredients.

STEP #2

Seal in the mositure using and oil. This can be any oil of your choice. Coconut, olive, and castor oil are my favorites.

STEP #3

Use a cream to 'lock in' all the products. I love shea butter, but I've been having an affair with mango butter... shhhhh!!!
